From Caves Branch you’ll hike 45 minutes down a jungle trail where your knowledgeable guide will point out the various plants, roots and herbs once used by the ancient Maya for medicinal purposes. You will have arrived at the cave entrance, a tunnel, which heads into the underground cave system and the beginning of a true explorer’s adventure. Climb into your inner tube, turn on your headlamp and allow the gentle flow of the river guide you. Dazzling and complex crystalline formations line the caves and give way to the grand rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites add to the tranquil magnificence of nature. Continuous series of pools formed by large granite boulders. The two 65-foot arched entryways leave you in awe. Huge stalactites hang from the massive cathedral-like vault, which the Maya used to bury their dead. Thousand-Foot Falls is believed to be the highest waterfall in Central America and is actually over 1,500 ft. to the bottom. An observation deck overlooking the falls also gives you a breathtaking view of the valley below.
Rio On Pools is a series of pools, formed by immense granite boulders, many of which are connected by small waterfalls. The boulders’ smooth surfaces make incredible natural water slides and a great place for a swim or a hike. |

The black orchird resort and dive shop requires that all guests taking part in tours conducted by the company fill out a waiver and liability release agreement as specified by PADI regulations. The black orchid does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from incorrect documents or additional expenses due to delay or changes of schedules or other causes. The right is reserved to decline any passengers should such a person’s health or general demeanor impede the operation of the services to the detriment of the other passengers. The black orchid reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an itinerary as may be deemed necessary for the carrying out of the tour or package, either before departure or en route. Baggage is carried at the passenger’s own risk. The acceptance of tickets and vouchers shall be deemed to be the passengers consent to the above conditions. |
TERMS & CONDITIONS
All guides are licensed and English speaking .They are renewed and insured PADI Professionals as well as local Licensed Tour Guides who will enhance your experience with their enthusiasm. |
DEPOSITS
A deposit of $25.00 USD is required on all services requested, within 14 days of the date of that request. Payment of the balance should be cleared not later than 30 days prior to client’s arrival date.
Groups will be required to deposit 25% on receipt of confirmation. A further 25% deposit will be due no later than 60 days prior to the arrival date. The balance in full will be due 30 days prior to the arrival date.
Further deposits may be required by individual hotels and notification will be given of each property’s policy. |
CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES AND REFUNDS
All requests for changes or cancellations must be in writing. Cancellation will be refunded as follows: No Refund for reservations cancelled within 14 days of arrival date; 50% refund for cancellations less than 45 days prior to arrival date; Full Refund for reservations cancelled after 45 days of arrival date. Any cancellations due to weather will be 100% refundable. |
GROUPS
A group is considered 8 persons or more and group cancellations must be in writing. Group Cancellations will be refunded as follows: No Refund for reservations cancelled 45 days of arrival date; 50% Refund for reservations cancelled between 90 and 45 days prior to arrival date; Full Refund for reservations cancelled after 90 days prior to arrival date.
